Risk Management Program

Organisations are increasingly seeking to incorporate risk management into their current business operations, and also when evaluating new business opportunities. In addition, regulators and government authorities are increasingly encouraging, and indeed requiring that various activities are subject to structured risk assessment. Examples include corporate governance and workplace safety, such as the Victorian working at heights regulations.

Risk Assessment

CRUSE Partnership Australia conducts Risk Assessments in relation to many types of situations and workplaces. The Risk Assessments are intended to objectively identify hazards that could injure a person or cause the company, the environment or the public loss, and using risk analysis techniques to quantify the degree of risk.

Once the risk has been quantified the appropriate level of control can be introduced to bring high risk activities or situations to a level that is acceptable to the organisation. We apply the risk assessment process to the following :

  Manual handling tasks

  Confined spaces

  Machine guarding

  Falls from heights

  Hazardous substances

  First aid

  Plant and equipment

  Protective clothing and equipment

  Outdoor and adventure activities

  Work processes and procedures

Property Risk Assessment

As a property manager or owner, you are already aware of your obligations to the building occupiers and visitors, whether they are your employees, tenants or the public. You have probably already engaged specialists to review your facility on a regular basis for compliance to the Building Code of Australia (BCA), which would have undoubtedly addressed key issues such as compliance to fire regulations.

Our experience is that these audits limit their scope to BCA compliance and directly related issues, and whilst the people conducting these audits are eminently qualified, their experience does not extend to reviewing your risks with respect to:

  Compliance to the OH&S act

  Compliance to EPA regulations

  Activities of subcontractors on your premises

  Activities of your tenants or building occupiers
